Program Overview

We specialize in non-competitive, co-ed activities. Safety, fun, and learning are our priorities, as the emphasis is squarely on participation in a recreational setting, rather than on competition.

It is estimated that since the early 1990's more than 6,000 boys and girls have attended at least one of our programs.  No less than half of our participants began at the age of four or five!

Director 

Norm Friedman; program founder. 

Norm spent several decades competing in a number of team sports and participating in numerous chess and backgammon tournaments. 

Shifting gears about twenty years ago, since the late 1980's Norm has been creating and conducting programs that are exclusively non-competitive and co-ed .

Assistant Director 

Joel Gildersleeve.  On board since 1999, Joel has been Assistant Director since 2001. 

Joel, who is a credentialed teacher in the Albany Unified School District, supervises our 4-5 year olds on Sunday, and during the Summer Camp is our main on-site coordinator.
